What is AICC II?

“AICC II” is a term found in the technical specifications of certain CNC machine tools (particularly machining centers) and generally refers to an advanced contour control feature for circular interpolation.
It stands for: AICC II = Advanced Intelligent Contour Control (Level 2).
Key Functionality of AICC II:
– AICC II is a CNC control system feature designed to:
– Enhance precision in curved paths (circular or spline interpolations)
– Maintain a consistent motion feed even during abrupt direction changes
– Minimize vibrations and reduce mechanical stress in corners or curves
– Optimize machining cycle time without compromising part quality
Operating Principle (Brief Overview):
AICC II processes multiple G-code blocks in advance, proactively adjusting speed and trajectory. It effectively “anticipates” curvature, adapting acceleration and deceleration to prevent mechanical shocks or path deviations.
Analogous to a skilled driver who gradually slows down before entering a curve rather than braking abruptly at the last moment.
